DigitalOcean Launched The Memory-Optimized Droplets

DigitalOcean has recently launched a new droplet layout, Memory-Optimized Droplets. And now they have four Droplets layouts: one shared CPU plan (Standard) and three dedicated CPU plans (General Purpose, CPU-Optimized, and Memory-Optimized).

The Memory-Optimized is designed with memory and dedicated compute in a ratio of 8GB:1vCPU, which mean 8 GB of RAM for each vCPU in a plan. So, it especially fits for RAM-intensive websites or apps such as real-time big data processing, web scale in-memory caches and indexes, high-performance databases.

The Memory-Optimized Droplets range from 16 GB RAM and up to 256 GB RAM with 2 vCPUs and 32 vCPUs, respectively. Also, DigitalOcean provides three different SSD-disk storage volumes on each plan for you to choose from.

The prices for this new Memory-Optimized droplets will range from $90/mo to $2240/mo for the highest plan.

Currently, the Memory-Optimized Droplets are Limited Availability for deploy in the NYC3 and AMS3 datacenters and will be available in all locations in the nearly future.
