STEP 1: Log in to your GoDaddy account, and click on Domain Settings next to the domain you want to renew.
Step 1: Click Domain Settings
Step 2: Click to Transfer domain away from GoDaddy
Step 3: Complete required fields to transfer your domain out of GoDaddy
Step 4: Click Accept Offer button

- You can renew your domain for a maximum of 5 years.
- PayPal & Credit Card are accepted for payments.
- The ICANN fee is not included.

The renewal tip for GoDaddy does not work. It offers the 20% discount before transfer, but if you acceot it, at check it will say that the discount does not apply to renewals.

This deal is provided by GoDaddy, and i has used when renewal my own domains, without any problems. I think, you need contact to Godaddy supporter to ask for this, let use chat-box to get quick answer from them 🙂
looks like this trick only works with one domain. If you have multiple domains, the other ones will not get the 20% discount.
I used this technique and GoDaddy sent me the transfer authorization code… No Discount
